Location
Oberndorf is Blackvolt's first battery storage project in active construction and the operational proof point for the company's end-to-end execution capability. The site was selected on the basis of a structured site analysis: optimal grid connection, fully permitted, and a commercially attractive position within the Austrian balancing services market.
With 18 MW of output and 36 MWh of capacity, the Oberndorf battery storage facility will participate in the Austrian electricity market post-commissioning. Revenue generation will follow a diversified stack across balancing energy, wholesale arbitrage, and additional flexibility products. Blackvolt coordinates the full construction phase. Post-commissioning, operations transfer to Blackvolt Operations and Management GmbH, the in-house subsidiary that handles technical and commercial asset management.

Location
Wöllersdorf is the largest single project in the current Blackvolt portfolio: 36 MW of output and 72 MWh of capacity. The Lower Austria site is in construction — all required permits are issued, land tenure is finalized, and the grid connection is contractually secured.
The strategic relevance of Wöllersdorf sits in its scale. Double the output and double the capacity of Oberndorf demonstrate the scalability of the Blackvolt operating model. The Lower Austria location complements the portfolio geographically and adds grid capacity in one of Austria's strongest industrial regions.

Blackvolt develops more than thirty battery storage projects across Austrian federal states. The pipeline carries more than 600 MWh of already-permitted capacity and exceeds 2 GWh in advanced development. At 2,500 MW total portfolio, Blackvolt holds the highest-maturity BESS development position in the Austrian market.
Site selection follows a systematic protocol. Every candidate is evaluated against grid capacity, land availability, regulatory status, and commercial viability. Only sites that clear all four criteria enter active development. The methodology protects project quality independent of portfolio scale.
The pipeline expands continuously. New sites enter evaluation, qualified candidates move into development, and mature projects progress toward Ready-to-Build status.

All required permits are issued, the grid connection is contractually secured, and land tenure is finalized. The project is ready for construction start. 251 MW of the Blackvolt portfolio have reached this status.

Construction is active and the asset is being built. Blackvolt coordinates and supervises the full construction process. After commissioning, Blackvolt Operations and Management GmbH takes over technical and commercial operations. 54 MW are currently in this phase.
